Giftwise is run by Coldharbour Tech Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17185625). In this policy, "we" and "Giftwise" mean Coldharbour Tech Limited.
What cookies and local storage are

What Giftwise uses
Giftwise runs as an app in your browser. It relies on your browser's local storage rather than traditional cookies. The storage we use is essential. It is needed for the app to function and to remember your choices.
We store your sign-in session so you stay logged in, your saved gift data so the app works, and your cookie choice so we do not ask you again. This storage is strictly necessary, so the app cannot work without it.
Affiliate tracking (Impact)
Giftwise earns affiliate commission, and to do that we use a tracking tag from our affiliate partner Impact (impact.com), loaded from utt.impactcdn.com. It sets cookies in your browser and records page views and clicks on outbound affiliate links, so that retailers can credit a referral to Giftwise. The tag is operated by Impact, and the data it collects is handled under Impact's own privacy policy. It is the one third-party tracker on the site.
What Giftwise does not use
Apart from the Impact affiliate tag above, we do not use advertising cookies, analytics tools such as Google Analytics, or advertising or profiling pixels. We do not sell your personal data.
Third-party cookies from retailers
Some links on Giftwise are affiliate links to UK retailers such as Amazon. When you click one and leave our site, the retailer may set its own cookies on its own website. This is how a retailer credits a referral to Giftwise. Those cookies are controlled by the retailer under its own cookie policy, not by us. You can read more in our affiliate disclosure.
Your choices
When you first visit Giftwise you will see a banner noting that we use essential storage and the Impact affiliate tag. The affiliate tag is part of how Giftwise is funded, so it loads on the site. If you would rather not be tracked by it, you can block third-party cookies and scripts in your browser or use a tracker blocker, and the app will still work.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser settings. The banner will then appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser controls, though some features may stop working if you do.
